Committee Action Plan

Who We Are

The Future of Accounting Education Committee supports the Society’s mission to cultivate, promote, and disseminate knowledge and information concerning certified public accountants by being a source of informational input and research regarding accounting education and the accounting profession.

What We Do

·         Promote the benefits NYSSCPA membership to fellow faculty and in the classroom.

·         Develop current and relevant academic curriculum to prepare CPA candidate students for entry into the profession.

·         Research and make recommendations regarding pertinent academic issues that affect the profession.

·         Serve in an advisory capacity to keep the Society abreast of educational requirements that impact initial licensure in New York State.

·         Serve as communicators and facilitators between the Society and CPAs in academia.

Who Should Join

NYSSCPA Members, including educators, accounting firm recruiters, practitioners, regulators, etc. with an interest in evaluating the standards for entrance into the profession; promoting a relevant, challenging and captivating accounting curriculum; and researching curricular concerns for the Society’s consideration.
