Buffalo Chapter Honors the Past and Shapes the Future
By Marc Mallare
Buffalo Chapter President
Welcome to a new year for the Buffalo Chapter of the NYCPA! It is my honor and privilege to be serving as the president of the chapter this upcoming fiscal year. I’m an audit manager with Frazier & Deeter, LLC, where I’ve spent the last four years remotely from Buffalo. I began my career in 2017 with Tronconi Segarra & Associates, after graduating from Canisius University with my bachelor’s in accounting and MBA. In my current role at Frazier & Deeter, I’m focused on client needs and lead our audit department training and development. I intend to place the same focus on our chapter and member needs as president.
The Buffalo Chapter is not only the oldest chapter in New York, but oldest among all CPA society chapters in the country, having just celebrated our 100th anniversary in February 2025. As we embark on the next century, it is my honor to lead the Buffalo Chapter with respect for the past, and intention for the future.
I want to thank Mindy Elniski for her service and leadership as the president this past year. Mindy’s time and efforts through her years of service have been instrumental to the chapter’s success! I would also like to thank the following people for serving in the following leadership roles this upcoming year:
President-elect: Kelly M. Mandell-Klumpp (SAX, LLC) Treasurer: Christine Learman (Christine A. Learman, CPA, PC) Secretary: Lisa Mrkall (Tronconi Segarra & Associates)
The Buffalo Chapter has historically been an active chapter, with monthly meetings and events. Memberships in the NYCPA and the Buffalo Chapter are open to anyone who wants to contribute to the accounting profession’s success. From high school or college students to seasoned professionals in public accounting, academia, industry and all the way to retired professionals—all are welcomed and encouraged to join us to enhance the experiences that the NYCPA provides.
One of the main benefits the NYCPA and our chapter offer is an opportunity to get involved and meet other professionals. We are looking forward to continuing to organize exciting events and opportunities for our members, including planning for the chapter’s new annual CPA celebration and night at the ballpark!
It is my privilege and honor to serve as the Buffalo Chapter’s president this upcoming year. I look forward to seeing or meeting you at our upcoming events or meetings! If you would like to get involved in our chapter, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
