About FAE

Established in 1972, the Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE) is a 501(c)(3) organization that administers an important strategic initiative of the NYSSCPA—to provide lifelong continuing education to certified public accountants in New York State. The FAE offers a wide selection of courses in accounting, auditing, taxation, industry-specific topics, ethics, and advisory services in multiple formats, including live and on-demand courses online, full- and half-day conferences and seminars; on-site learning and 1- and 2-credit CPE sessions provided through the NYSSCPA’s technical committees.

The Foundation for Accounting Education of the New York State Society of CPAs is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy hold final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.

The Foundation for Accounting Education is approved to issue NASBA credit for Group Live and Group Internet Based courses. FAE’s sponsor number is 119366. PLEASE NOTE:  Due to certain technical limitations, at this time FAE is unable to offer NASBA credit for all Internet Based courses.  Please read the credit information carefully before signing up.

The FAE is also a registered CPE Sponsor in these states with the following sponsor numbers:

  • New York, 000372

FAE Trustees

The Foundation for Accounting Education of the New York State Society of CPAs is governed by a 5- to 7-member board of trustees that includes three officers: the president, president-elect, and secretary/treasurer. The trustees’ three-year terms are evenly staggered, so two vacancies occur each year.  FAE's sole member is the Society, which, with input from FAE’s Board of Trustees, acts to fill FAE Board vacancies . The NYSSCPA’s Board of Directors Selections Subcommittee is charged with identifying individuals qualified to serve on the trustee board.
